The Spooky So Far.
Heya chums! To aid in your downloading as we get closer to Halloween, here’s a clickable visual roundup of the spooky sounds posted so far on Scar Stuff. Collect ’em all!
New and Improved! Now with 100% more alt tags!
Categories: Uncategorized

The wealth of Halloween treats you’ve provided is absolutely mindblowing!! Awesome… I’m just worried that I may have missed one.
Has anyone told you recently how UTTERLY FABULOUS you are?? Thank you, I’m so thrilled to have found your blog!
Once again I’d like to thank you for the effort you put into your blog and the great records you post. This year has been rockin’ my casbah with all the spooky sounds you’ve made available. Thanks.
Hi Jason:
I recently found your blog site (wonderful), which then led to another cool discovery: Halloween Games, Stories and Songs by Wade Denning turned out to be the soundtrack from my Kindergarten play which I’d remembered from almost three decades ago, but never knew the source of the music. Thank you for that.
Although I downloaded your mp3 files, I have since also gotten my own copy of the record for sentimental reasons. Do you know if there was suppose to be a booklet that went with it? Also, mine is in pretty clean shape. If you’d like a better full-color jpg to include with your files, let me know.
Again, thanks for all you do.
Jason, Can you possibly do a text listing with links? Being blind, many of the images just look like number gibberish to my screenreader. Here is an example of how the first ten read to me:
spookparty
images/029-100
halloween-wade
sot
images/018-100
monsterball
images/007-100
images/014-100
images/020-100
images/021-100
Any help would be great! Thanks.
Anonymous: when I get home tonight I’ll try & drum up alt tags for the images & re-upload the table, which I hope will do the trick. In the meantime hitting this post (“previously on scar stuff”) (which is text based)should get you at least 80% or so of the stuff on the list.
Jason, thanks once again for supplying us with all of the great Halloween sounds that most of us otherwise never would have heard. I only hope you’re leaving other surprises for us after this Halloween season is over.
I hate to do this, but you or one of the other visitors here may be able to help me. Does anyone have a clean copy of “Halloween Spooks” by Lambert, Hendricks and Ross? I have the copy that was posted on Cake & Polka Parade, but it’s kind of scratchy.
Hi, found your link on your lifehacker comment. What an awesome blog! I’m definitely subscribing.
Oh, how I love to look at them all together like that. sigh.
awesome, but does anyone know or have an ooold song called ghost of john? i cant for it for nothing.
Thank you. The text based stuff definitely helped. Much appreciated.
All I have to say is…WOW!!!

Okay, blind and/ or screenreader friendly alt tags should be there across the board now. Enjoy!
Nice setup you have now,
This is a Trick or Treaters Dream…..thanx so much Jason
Thank you Jason. The tags are now Blind/screenreader friendly. Thanks for all your hard work on the whole blog and look forward to more as you find the time. It’s all greatly appreciated.
You rock man. You don’t know how amazing this is. Thank you very much. I was looking for a haunted christmas album, I think I got it from your site before or through your links, can’t find it though. It had a santa skeleton maybe (?) going into a chimney. Any ideas? Have a great halloween. I have some stuff I’ll be ripping soon and will be sure to pass it your way.
Hmmm. Haunted Christmas? Aside from possibly being Buck Owens (or Bobby Pickett) singing “Monster’s Holiday”, I’d wager that the chances are high for it being Monster Christmas Mash from (the mysteriously dormant) These Records Are BenT.
anonymous, there’s also “A Merry Monster Christmas”, which you can listen to here:
http://musicsojourn.com/Playlists/Specialty/Christmas/comedy/v1-10/v1/CN_Christmas_sg.htm
I have this one, but don’t remember too much about it. It was shared last Christmas on falalalala.com.
Hey Stephen (well, or anyone) — Do you have mp3s of “Merry Monster Christmas” by any chance? I coulda sworn I snagged that from Fa La La too, but can’t find it anywhere (I was lazily hoping for a re-post eventually).
Sure, Jason, if someone doesn’t beat me to it, I’ll try to post a link this weekend.
Oh. I had that Lp online all the time, and didn’t rememer the name. Now i see it on Cool Stream i remember it. No clue where I found it though. One of the many sharity blogs some where. either that or Dr. terror may have sent it to me.
WOW!!! I mean… Like, WOW!!!
That is one Amazing Pile of Spooky Sound right there, Boy Howdy!
I’m glad, at this point, that I’ve downloaded just about all of it as it has been presented. Otherwise, since being presented with this graphic presentation, I’d simply have to take time off from work to play catch-up.
Thanks!
Jason I so want to gay-marry you- despite the fact that neither of us are gay-and oh yeah it’s illegal (rolling eyes) just so I can claim half ownership of your record collection.
which is my charming, adorable way of say dude, you are awesome! SO many of those records were a part of my childhood, and now thanks to you, and you ALONE, they can continue to be part of my ongoing childhood! You are the best.
Here you go, Halloween-meets-Christmas fans. I’ve uploaded both “Merry Monster Christmas” and “Monster Christmas Mash” for your enjoyment. I can’t take credit for creating these files – that goes to one of the kind members of falalalala.com or Senses Working Overtime, I don’t remember.
Len Maxwell – A Merry Monster Christmas (1964)
Peter Pan Records – Monster Christmas Mash (1974)
Wow. I was turned on to your blog by a friend last night and am blown away by all the amazing stuff you have here, especially those two mixes you made. Thank you so much.
man, between the marriage proposals & the halloween x-mas stuff (fantastic!) my head is swimming. thanks a lot everyone — I’ll try & make sure to get a lot more out there before Oct 31 & then I’ll probably finally start posting some of the non-spooky stuff I’ve been sitting on while I’ve been focused on my Halloween records.
It’s extra cool to see so many comments from new people too, and as always I’m super appreciative for the praise dealt my own personal spooky mixes (fer reals) — those being the (ahem) Spooky Party & Ghoul-Arama discs. Plug plug.
I just found your site through the boingboing post on Music for Robots…this is a great collection!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I was looking to improve my sounds to scare my kids and the kids coming to my house on Halloween ….you’ve done me a great service!!!!
This is fantastic! I just finished a micro-fine glitter reproduction of Frankenberry & Booberry. I use the actual cereal boxes to create life sized memorials to our favorite cereals and characters. Fortunateley Booberry has sold but Frankenberry is still for sale!
Ghost of John
Don’t know if it’s the version you’re looking for, but “Ghost of John” is part of Scholastic’s “Mother Ghost Nursery Rhymes & Other Tricks & Treats” on flip side of “Georgie” (and “The Teeny Tiny Woman”). Almost cried when I found this here. I’d taught “Ghost of John” to my children, and was thrilled to be able to play this for them.

I would so love many of these, but I keep getting a file not found web error. Are the links gone, or is it something I’m doing on my end?
dude jason, you rock yet again. That was the right xmas album I was looking for! Thank you. By the wway Im still tryin to get my fingers on a turntable to copy some of these wax for you. Havent forgotten!
The prevention of underage gambling and identifying and helping problem gamblers is a core objective in running an integrity driven online gambling operation. Gambling at blackjack, or any other Online Casinos Extreme game for that matter is a great form of leisure and entertainment, but for some it can potentially be dangerous.
I dont know why… but none of these work, maybe Im dumb, maybe all of the links are. But either way, it sucks because seeing all this great stuff and not being able to listen to ANY of it sucks, it sucks big time, so if you could find it in your heart to bring all of these great links back from the dead I (and many other people) would appreciate it.
I just found your site by linking from Check the Cool Wax. I’m sure you’ve had other requests for this but I’ll thro mine in too. Any chance at all that you have and/or could post the Disney Records “Haunted House” album? I got one from ebay a few years ago in mono for 25 bucks. Was it ever released in stereo?
Thanks for a fun site!

Great collection I also have a blog starting up some Scary Sounds, they might not be as old as yours but I’m trying my best to get all these collections I have up.

Jason, you have no idea how much your generosity – (My God, they’re FREE?!?) means to the 6-10 year old imprisoned in my 50 year old frame. Also, these pieces of recorded yesterday help ease the homesickness of a displaced Yank. FAMOUS MONSTERS SPEAK is a record I’ve tried to hear again for almost 40 years. Thanks again.

Excellent article and commentary! Online Penny Slots and Online Penny Slots Machines
Thank you! theres a lot of my childhood on those grooves! esp. the Famous Monsters Speak and Wade Denning’s famous ghost stories…
Jason,
What happened to all your links? I found your blog last year, but I only downloaded a few tracks. I came back this year and all the links are removed. What’s up?
Thanks.
